HAL employees hit the streets against jobs on interim basis

NASHIK: The workers of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) staged demonstrations opposite the KK Wagh College of Agriculture to protest interim recruitment of workers on Sunday. Their grievance is the four year period, they want the new recruitments to be made on a permanent basis.

The company workers affiliated to the HAL Employees Union of Nashik division held their protest during the written exams organised by the HAL at the KK Wagh College for the post of workers in the non-executive cadre.

There are a total of 85 posts to be filled in the Nashik division of HAL, including 18 Diploma-holders (Electricals), 52 ITI fitters and 15 ITI Electricans. The written exam for the said posts was held on Sunday.

The HAL Employees Union has opposed the interim recruitment on the ground that it will affect the future of the workers that are being recruited.

Pradeep Gole, executive committee member of the union said, "We are against the interim recruitment of workers, which is only for four years. The recruitment should be made on permanent basis, not interim. The workers have accomplished their targets within time and there are several new good projects.

" It is time the company stopped interim recruitments and thought of the future of the company and the new recruits, " added the official.
